Based on real-life work situations (telephone conversations, meetings, etc), the TFI test consists of 180 multiple-choice questions divided into 2 sections:

Section 1: Listening comprehension

 (42 minutes), consists of:

• Part 1: Question – Answer module (40 questions)
• Part 2: Short dialogues (30 questions)
• Part 3: Short conversations (20 questions)

Section 2: Reading

(68 minutes), consists of:

• Part 1: Error identification (25 questions)
• Part 2: Incomplete sentences (25 questions)
• Part 3: Comprehension (40 questions)

The test hence lasts for around 110 minutes, with another 30 minutes budgeted for the completion of formalities, giving of instructions, etc.
